영화의 스케일이 크다는 점에서 볼 가치가 있다.
수많은 유명배우들과.. 영국, 미국, 독일, 폴란드의 군대가 네덜란드를 배경으로 싸운다. 당시로서는 만은 제작비가 동원된 영화이다.
작전 자체가 실패한 것이다 보니... 정신 안차리고 보면 어딘가 답답하다... 순간순간 전투들은 독일군한테 이기는 것 같은데 이상하게 상황은 점점 꼬여가는게 보인다.
동명의 논픽션 소설이 있고.. 그걸 근거로 햇다고 한다. 1946년에 There is the Glory라는 다른 영화가 먼저 이 사건을 다뤘다고 한다.
